Child and Adolescent Mental and Behavioral Health Principles (2025)
In 2016, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) Coalition first joined together to publish principles outlining concrete opportunities to improve and enhance mental health services for children and adolescents. We have consistently refreshed the principles in the years since then. As a coalition, we urge action on opportunities to increase insurance coverage and access; strengthen the child and adolescent mental and behavioral health workforce; increase access to prevention, early identification, and early intervention services; support children and adolescents in crisis; integrate mental and behavioral health into pediatric primary care; expand access to telehealth; ensure mental health parity; support mental health services in schools; and address the mental health needs of systems-involved youth.
